Absecon’s Jessica Schwartzer was a featured presenter during April’s Regional Preschool Administrator Meeting through the New Jersey Department of Education’s Office of Preschool Education.
Schwartzer, who serves as the Curriculum Supervisor at Absecon Public Schools, is also the district’s preschool administrator.
Schwartzer’s presentation focused on the transition from preschool to kindergarten and effective strategies to ensure a smooth passage, as well as buy-in from parents and students.
During her presentation, Schwartzer showcased the many strategies in place in Absecon Public Schools including Parent Workshops, which are held monthly and focus on a different topic; the Early Childhood Advisory Council that invites teachers, parents and community members to collaborate with administrators; and ongoing collaboration between the preschool students and older students, among other efforts.
Schwartzer received a glowing review regarding her presentation and passion for early childhood education from Joy Daniels, Education Program Development Specialist with the state’s Office of Preschool Education.
“We appreciated her vulnerability and her transparency with the glows and grows that is showcased in Absecon,” Daniels said of Schwartzer. “Jessica’s knowledge and passion for our youngest learners is contagious and inspirational.”
